Soupy Cup

While recently soaking yet another bib in tomato soup dribbles I had an epiphany. Serve soup in a sippy cup! So simple and so brilliant. It frees up my hands, gives Little Man a feeling of independence and gets in a serving of vegetables at the same time.
I like to use a Gerber Fun Grips cup with the valve removed but any small cup with a detachable valve should work just fine.

Whipper Snapper

What little boy doesn't look adorable in overalls? And what mom doesn't love finding something for her guy that isn't covered in camouflage, monster trucks or sports? These suspender overalls from Old Navy are the perfect blend of upscale children's style and outlet mall prices. $19.50 is a steal!

Play with your food

Little Man just loves to help me unpack the groceries and organize the cabinets but I am worried about big cans crushing little toes or finding a drawer full of couscous. So I have started saving visually interesting boxes and labels to turn into play food. Old cooking magazines have great photos to glue into oatmeal or breadcrumb containers to make lightweight "cans" and empty boxes from the freezer need nothing more than a dab of glue to secure the flaps. You could include some lovely felt vegetables and make a faux kitchen or play with the containers on their own.

Dr. Awesome

We adore Dr. Praeger's Sensible Foods, made with "ingredients you will recognize." Fishies and Spinach Littles were early favorites and now Little Man has moved on to the Fillet Fish Sticks. I like the Broccoli Pancakes as a helathy substitute for scallion pancakes.
